Cable Wakeboard World Championships 2008 in Russia
In about 4 weeks the CWWC Cable Wakeboard World Championships will take place in Anapa (Russia). Beginning on 4th September 2008 the world’s best riders will meet at the new cableway in the sunny South of Russia.
7 categories will compete for medals and for the wakeboard glory. The following days until 7th September 2008 will give answer to the question who will be the world’s champion within the several age groups. The basical lineup is set up – it can not get any better: Nick Davies (GB), world champion and athlete of the year, is incited to stick up for his title. Not to forget Mike Ketellapper from the Netherlands – he is a truly outstanding wakeboarding-personality of the category Open Men as well. Breathtaking jumps and radical tricks are characteristic for the cream of the crop.
The girl’s league shows the Who Is Who in girl’s wakeboarding: Maxime Sapulette (NL), the Dutch favourite of the category Junior Ladies and Mayanka Jansen (NL), winner of the European Cable Wakeboard Tour 2008, will be in keen competition with the German top wakeboard-girls Aurie Brabänder, Ginger Pfennings and Vanessa Pfaff. Further riders will be announced soon – the federations have to define who will be sent to the World’s.
Federations like Croatia, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Israel, Germany and South Africa are already confirmed – overseas´ registrations are awaiting. It will be certainly that the wakeboarding-elite will amaze the spectators at location. The CWWC Cable Wakeboard World Championships will take place in Russia for the first time and will make history. During the great cableway opening in summer more than 15.000 spectators enjoyed the big event. The hotels and municipality of Anapa announce that the accommodations are nearly fully booked. They count with a record attendance during this space of time. The cableway on the open sea side offers a great
promenade with beautiful restaurants, bars and cafes that are close to the venue. There is no better way to create a tribune.
