Quiksilver Pro France in Hossegor starts in four days

Kelly Slater collects his 5th win of the season at Trestles (California) and Jérémy Florès reaches the semi-finals and knocks out World Champion Mick Fanning.

After his victory in stage seven of this year's ASP World Tour at Lower Trestles (California, USA) against Taj Burrow, Kelly Slater now has a record ninth title within his grasp!

With a brace of wins in Australia (Gold Coast and Bell's), followed up with two more in Fiji and at Jeffrey's Bay (South Africa), King Kelly has now walked away with five of this season's Tour events.

Slater arrives in Europe with a comfortable lead over his rivals, but must take victory there if he wants to be named World Champion on the beaches of south-west France.

Like last year, Jérémy made it as far as the semi-finals of this American leg of the World Championships, even knocking out 2007 World Champion Mick Fanning (Aus) in the quarters.

With just a few days to go until the Quiksilver Pro France (19 to 28 Sep / Hossegor), the Frenchman currently lies 10th in the provisional world rankings. He will be looking to produce one of his best performances in front of his home fans, alongside fellow Europeans Miky Picon (Fra), Aritz Aranburu (Euk) and Tiago Pires (Port).

Tim Boal claims Rip Curl Pro Zarautz in the Basque Country

Tim Boal (Anglet, FRA), 25, won the ASP World Qualifying Series 5-Star Rip Curl Pro Zarautz today, claiming valuable 2000 ratings' points after defeating Joan Duru (Hossegor, FRA), 19, in clean two to three foot (0.5 to 1 meter) waves in an unprecedent 100% French final.

Flores places equal 3rd in Boost Mobile Pro

Jeremy Flores (New Caledonia / Capbreton,FRA), 20, confirmed he was back and fit at the Boost Mobile Pro of Surf getting a 3rd place to equal his best result this year and jump back to No. 10 on the ASP World Tour ratings.
