Slater could clinch 9th ASP World Title

A champion will be crowned at the Quiksilver Pro France in Hossegor today. Kelly Slater (USA) is capable of clinching his ninth ASP World Title today too.

Hossegor, France.  Copyright: Covered Images Round 4 of the event will commence at 8:30am in four to six foot (two to three metre) waves at Les Estagnots. Should Slater make it past Taylor Knox (USA) in Heat 4 of Round 4, all attention will then shift to World No. 2 Taj Burrow (AUS) going head to head with rookie Dane Reynolds (USA).


If Burrow bows out in Round 4 or the Quarterfinals, Slater must win the Quiksilver Pro France to clinch today.


Twin brothers C.J. and Damien Hobgood will also go head to head in the last heat of Round 4.

Pro France Round 2 in Hossegor

Jeremy Flores and Adriano de Souza have a few things in common. They both qualified for the ASP World Tour as WQS No. 1 surfers and they both won their Round 2 Quiksilver Pro France heats held at Les Estagnots.

Bourez defeats Durbidge to advance

Michel Bourez came up with some impressive surfing at the Quiksilver Pro France defeating current ASP World Tour No. 3 Bede Durbidge with the highest heat result of the event so far, a 19.57 point tally.
