ASP European Tour 2012: German wins Championship
The ASP European Tour 2012 has come to an end and the new champion is German Surf-Pro Marlon Lipke.
German surfer Marlon Lipke is 2012 ASP European Champion. Wins at the Protest Vendée Pro, the Cabreiroa Pantin Classic Pro, a 5th place at the San Miguel Pro Zarautz and a 9th place at the Sooruz Lacanau Pro were enough for the 28 year-old to claim the title.

Further he said: "I set myself a goal at the beginning of the year and that was to become European champion. I made it and I think it's a title that we should take more serious in the future. I think it's a title that should be pushed more like in other sports. I would like to dedicate this title to my lovely mother." Marlon is to date the sole German surfer to ever qualify for the elite ASP World Tour.
Day 2 of the 2012 ASP Protest Vendee Pro was full of fiery performances from the competitors. A champion might be crowned as early as tomorrow if event officials decide that conditions will not be favorable on Sunday.
Marlon Lipke eventually took out the Final heat of the 2012 ASP Protest Vendee Pro, besting three hungry Frenchman, including 2011 ASP Europe Champion Romain Cloitre, powerhouse Joan Duru and the event overall standout Vincent Duvignac.
Miguel Galeiras and Marcos Rodriguez co-organizers of the event have confirmed that the Cabreiroa Pantin Classic Pro will be held this season with their continuing support of menís as well as womenís professional surfing in Europe.
