2010 ASP Roxy Jam Women's World Longboard Championships
32 of the best female longboarders in the world are on their way to the shores in Biarritz, France where they will battle it out at the 2010 Roxy Jam to claim the ASP Women’s World Longboard title.
Staged at the renowned surf spot, La Côte des Basques, the Roxy Jam is sure to witness some of the best longboarding skills in the world. La Côte des Basques offers beautiful sandy beaches and great potential for both classical and progressive longboarders.
The 2010 Roxy Jam is guaranteed to include reigning ASP Women’s World Longboard Champion, Jennifer Smith, who is hoping for a historical third title in four events.
“Having two titles is amazing and I wouldn’t mind having another one,” Smith said. “I am definitely going to put my best into the competition. I'm feeling good about my surfing and looking forward to the Roxy Jam.”
Biarritz, France is an ideal place for surfing and has been so ever since the sport was brought to La Côte des Basques in the 1950s.
Smith's experience at the location will definitely serve to her advantage as her eyes are set on the ASP World Title. She is well aware of what it takes to win these events.
“I certainly feel comfortable paddling out at the Cote des Basques,” Smith said. “The waves are usually pretty fun for longboarding and its pretty similar to the surf I get at home [but] Anyone I draw in a heat will be a threat.”
Anything is possible in a competition with Jennifer Smith, Justine Dupont and Coline Menard. The thousands of spectators are in for a treat at the 2010 Roxy Jam.
