Kevin Pearce wins the Air & Style 2007
20-year old Kevin Pearce has taken victory in the Nokia Air & Style 2007 at the Munich Olympic Stadium in front of 28,000 spectators. He prevailed at the superfinal with 286 opoints over Mikkel Bang, Torstein Horgmo and David Benedek.
His winning trick was a combination of Cab 1260 to Crail. He showed a multitude of highest-caliber tricks and convinced the judges also with unprecedented style.
Tim Humphreys won the Rookie Challenge, beating the world’s best snowboard youngsters. With this victory he secured a place among the Top 16 at next year´s Air & Style 08 in Munich. The Nokia Air & Style once again lived up to its reputation as the most important snowboard competition of the year. The stars of freestyle snowboarding showed a firework of tricks and style at top level. With a total amount of 100,000 Euro prizemoney for the snowboarders and 1,000 points for the Swatch TTR world snowboard ranking the Nokia Air & Style 07 is one of six highest decorated snowboard contests in the world.
Daniel Bodin won the premiere of the Freestyle Snowmobile contest ahead of Chris Burandt and Aleks Norgaard. Their show with backflips on snowmobiles weighing 200 kg was a breathtaking experience. In between the sports highlights the crowd was rocked by the best musical line-up the Nokia Air & Style has ever presented. EMA winner 30 Seconds To Mars, the Swedish punkrockband The Hives and Grammy winner Sean Paul brought the stadium to boiling temperature.
