2010 Burton New Zealand Open: Swatch TTR Tour Continues in New Zealand
Winter is in full swing down in the Southern Hemisphere, providing the perfect opportunity for the Burton New Zealand Open and for snowboarding fanatics to spend some more time on the slopes.
A 5Star event on the Swatch TTR World Tour, the New Zealand Open is scheduled to be held from August 10-14, 2010 and will feature halfpipe and slopestyle formats.
This will be the second 5Star event of the 10/11 TTR Tour season giving the snowboarders another chance to collect some early season points before winter returns to the Northern Hemisphere.
TTR rankings No.1, Gjermund Braaten, will be attending the Burton New Zealand Open, along with No.2, Mark McMorris, and Chas Guldemond, who is currently in the World No. 3 position.
Other top male riders that are scheduled to attend include Seppe Smits, Marko Grilc, Charles Reid, Jack Mitrani, Louie Vito and Kazuhiro Kokubo.
In addition to the 5Star New Zealand Open and the popular 4Star Stylewars competition in Australia, there are many rookie-level events on the agenda.
Among those events are the 3Star Dew Hut Jam on July 31st 2010 in Australia, the 3Star Billabong Bro Down on September 11th 2010 and the Mother Freestyle Series – Smith Session Slopestyle on August 14th 2010 in New Zealand.

Swatch and the TTR World Snowboard Tour are proud to present the winning design of the Swatch TTR Trophy “Art Rules” Design Contest.
