KB4girls 2010 World Tour: Stop In San Francisco Bay Area
Kristin Boese is off to Sherman Island in the San Francisco Bay Area for the next KB4girls tour stop. Over the years, Sherman Island has become the kitesurfing Mecca of California.
Kitopia, owned and run by pro rider Sandy Parker, is just over an hour from San Francisco, so kiteboarders in the Bay Area have an ideal kitesurfing location within reach.
With such a great location, it is no surprise that the 30 available spots for this KB4girls tour stop are almost completely booked.
"The KB4girls events - which include a campout - are always exciting and have a great 'back to the roots' feel, allowing the girls to bond," says founder Kristin Boese. "I am 100% sure that the Sherman Island event is going to be a great success and am personally really looking forward to it!"
Sherman Island receives steady thermal winds and plenty of sunshine from May thru September. The water is warm and flat, flowing between a number of grassy islands and a slightly more advanced onshore launch.
Sandy Parker, owner of "Kitopia" kite school, is thrilled that Kristin Boese and KB4girls are heading to San Francisco.
"We are very excited to host a KB4girls event with Kristin Boese this year," said Parker. "Being a women owning a kite school and having an opportunity to be a part of an event like this is an honor."
An excellent choice of location for June's event, Kitopia was opened eight years ago in 2002.
"We are happy to share our knowledge and experience from years of teaching at Sherman Island with other women in the sport and to support the event with local organization, safety and boat support," continued Parker.
In addition to the efforts of Kitopia, the local support for the KB4girls event in California is amazing and will guarantee a perfect event.

The annual KiteJamboree is to be held in El Gouna, Egypt from the 18th to 20th of May. The event location offers the participants of the KB4girls camp the perfect conditions to learn new tricks and tips from kitesurfing world champion Kristin Boese.
So that the girls in Spain and France also have the chance to learn from kitesurfing world champion Kristin Boese, KB4girls is heading to the river Fluvia in St. Pere Pescador, Spain.
