The 2011 Season Of The Telekom Extreme Playgrounds Starts In Duisburg
The Telekom Extreme Playgrounds is back for another spectacular season of biking in 2011. Duisburg is set to welcome a long list of international BMX and mountain bike champions, plus three bands are expected to rock the stage.
Get ready, because the wait is almost over. The new season of the Telekom Extreme Playgrounds is scheduled to kick off on April 17th in Duisburg and will be celebrating the 5th anniversary of wild BMX action.
The Telekom Extreme Playgrounds is excited to welcome MTB Pro, Amir Kabbani, and the BMX world champion, Anthony Napolitan.
Germany's Amir Kabbani was Mountainbiker of the Year in 2010, won the Telekom Playgrounds in 2009, and took 3rd last year.
BMX Dirt world champion, Anthony Napolitan, will be representing the USA at the Playgrounds and is sure to bring the contest to a new level.
White Style winner Sam Pilgrim of the United Kingdom, French dirt legend Patrick Guimez, three-times X-Games Winner Corey Bohan and contest rider Yannick Granieri will also be in attendance.
Besides the 20 invited riders, 8 qualifiers (3 pros and 1 amateur in each category) will come from the Telekom Local Support Dirt Challenge.
In addition to the BMX contests, Telekom Extreme Playgrounds expects three live bands to perform at the venue. The first confirmed act, Danko Jones hails from Canada, ready to set the stage on fire.
The band with its charismatic frontman, Danko, has a true following in Europe. Since their formation back in 1996 they have released 6 albums including “We Sweat Blood”, “Never Too Loud”, and “Below The Belt”.
