2011 Suzuki Nine Knights: Andi Wittmann To Rock Wildkogel
Things will really get exciting at the 2011 Suzuki Nine Knights as the MTB event begins with a winner-takes-all „joust tournament‟, a.k.a. - the Big Air contest, in which athletes will perform on the 6m drop tower and 14m „Castle‟ jump.
Hosted by Andi Wittmann, the 2011 Suzuki Nine Knights MTB event is scheduled to kick off at the Urlaubs-Arena in Wildkogel Neukirchen/Bramberg on August 21, 2011.
Andi Wittmann is Germany's premier freeride aerialist and winner of the 2010 best trick contest Vienna Air King. Some of the star MTB athletes that will be joining Andi include freeride luminaries Yannick Granieri from France, Timo Pritzl from Germany, Sweden‟s Martin Söderström, and Austrian Niki Leitner.
“With only four weeks to go until the event my excitement level is off the register!" said Andi Wittmann. "For three weeks now we have been building the trail and the feature and I can‟t wait to finally get out there and ride them.”
Neukirchen am Großvenediger, an award-winning, centuries-old village in Austria‟s Hohe Tauern National Park will provide the 2011 Suzuki Nine Knights MTB event with the perfect setting for some extreme riding.
The event in Wildkogel features include a recently constructed freeride trail, a jump feature known as the „Castle‟, and a „super-kicker‟ that unique to the Suzuki Nine Knights event.
Several competitions will run throughout the event, unveiling the most worthy knights in the Nine Knights realm. The „Ruler of the Big Air(Castle)‟, „Ruler of the Trail‟, „Most progressive Rider‟, best trick, etc., will be judged by the riders themselves followed by a crowning ceremony at the end of the week.
The 2011 Suzuki Nine Knights MTB event in Wildkogel is set for sick tricks, huge airtime, and the best freeriders on the planet delivering before an awesome crowd of mountain biking fans.
