Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour 2010 In Madrid
Before a crowd of 25,000 fans, Robbie Maddison defeated the world's best in freestyle motocross at the legendary arena Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas in Madrid, Spain.
Aussie superstar Robbie Maddison raised the bar yet again in the Spanish capital with a brand-new trick, completing one full rotation of his body over the bike while 15 metres in the air before returning to the saddle to nail the trick and ride away.
“The Volt Body Varial definitely helped me win,” said Robbie Maddison with a grin. “I still can’t believe it!”
Switzerland’s Mat Rebeaud made an excellent comeback just weeks after his crash by defeating the Spanish hero and 2009 winner Dany Torres in the Semi-Finals.
Despite his fourth place finish, Dany Torres was gracious in his defeat and glad to have participated in Madrid's massive 2010 spectacle.
“The atmosphere here is just insane," said Torres. "Next year I’ll be back to take revenge, but Maddison deserved to win here tonight. Thank you to all the fans.”
“I’ve got to stay consistent and finish on the podium in London and at the season finale in Rome. If I manage to do that then nothing can stand between me and the overall title,” said Villa.
The fifth stop of the 2010 season will be held in London on August 14, 2010.
After all of their hard work and perseverance, the FMX Awards is the perfect way to recognize the best FMX riders of the year. The award ceremony has been held annually since 2006.
Chinchon, a town just south of Madrid, was the setting for the preview show to the 2010 Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour. Spain's beloved Dany Torres gave everyone a taste of what is to come in the upcoming FMX season.
